With cat-like reflexes and a heart bigger than Texas, the Philadelphia based band SEELEVEL has entered the game. Their sound is a mixture of cutting edge rock and old school hip hop poured through a funk filter. SEELEVEL’s message is delivered through vocal arrangements combining singing and rapping. The lyrics hit the crowd on many levels, creating an attention grabbing form of "poetic justice". Recently, one critic summed it up nicely when she described SEELEVEL as "Bohemian 311 meets Jimi Hendrix.......made me want to get up and shake my ****."

The band is centered around the songwriting partnership of Old Man Trex (lyricist, drummer, and human beatbox), RonMan (bass and lead vocals), DJ Variance (scratch/sample maniac), and Rev (Guitar and backing vocals). Most songs start out as either beatbox ideas or bass and drum jam sessions, resulting in music that is designed to make you move and not just stand against the wall. Once the "groove" is identified, the guitar and DJ tracks are added like seasonings to a roast to accent the true flavor.

Need something to sample and savor? 2006 marked the release of Prisoner of Revoluntionary Thought, SEELEVEL's debut CD. Built to polarize and instigate, but not terrorize, it's tongue-in-cheek at first glance with depth discovered over the distance. Building upon P.O.R.T's momentum, the band plans on releasing their follow-up CD, The Ghost Farmer Rerun, in 2007.

SEELEVEL plays regularly at venues in Philadelphia and NYC. They execute live with precision and excellence with each member covering their vocal parts in addition to their primary instrument duties. The frantic, nervous energy they create live, in addition to their unusual stage presentation, always demands notice and attracts new fans.
